Buhari meets with reps of Min of Transport, queries diversion of foreign loans for rail project

President Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo met with officials from the Transport and National Population Commission at The Presidential Villa, Abuja today. He queried the diversion of $600m from a $1 billion loan collected from the Chinese Exim Bank meant to be used for the construction of a standard gauge rail line linking Lagos to Kano.

President Buhari expressed his displeasure at the development when he met with representatives of the Ministry of Transport at the state house Abuja earlier today.
“I hope that due process was followed before such diversions were carried out. Taking money from one project to another has to be done properly,” he said

The response to Chibok girls by GEJ's govt was unimpressive - Buhari says

Buhari said the response from the past administration immediately after the Chibok girls were kidnapped was very unimpressive and unfortunate. Okonjo-Iweala released $1bn govt funds for Jonathan’s re-election – Oshiomhole

The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has accused the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, of tampering with $1bn from the Federation Account, which he claimed was used “for election purposes.” Oshiomhole, who disclosed this on Monday at a seminar organised by the state government for permanent secretaries, directors and deputy directors on enhancing internally generated revenue in the state, challenged the former minister to tell Nigerians how the Excess Crude Account was drawn down to $4.1bn from the peak of $10bn, when no approval was given by the National Economic Council for any withdrawals.
